What safety measures should I take? 

Please ensure you follow these safety tips when lighting your candle.

  • Trim your wick to 1/8" before each and every burn. This ensures your flame does not smoke, flicker too much or rise too high.
  • Your First Burn needs to be 3-4 hours in order to achieve full melting pool.  A full melting pool prevents tunneling, which is access wax build up on the side of your vessels.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep your candle out of reach of children and pets.
  • Never burn your candle near anything that can catch fire.
  • Be sure that you place your candle on a stable, heat resistant surface.
  • Keep lit candles away from any drafts.
  • Never burn your candle all the way down. Always leave 1/2 inch of wax in the bottom of the vessel.
  • Never touch or move a burning candle when the wax is liquid.
  • Place burning candles at least 4 inches apart from one another.
  • Never use water to extinguish our candle.

When will my order be shipped? Your order will ship 1-3 business days after we process your payment.

Are your products vegan?  Yes, we always take care to select and use vegan friendly wax + fragrance oils in our products. We never use ingredients that are derived from animal products when making our candles.

Do I need to trim my wicks?  Yes, before each and every burn of your candle it is important to trim the wick. If your candle wick is too long it can cause smoking and blacken the sides of your vessel.  We recommend a cut length of 1/8 inch using a wick trimmer. However, small household scissors or nail clippers work just fine. We recommend that you only cut the wick once the wax has cooled to avoid any wick trimmings in the wax. Having a wick that is too long will not only cause your candle to burn quicker and hotter, but it could also prohibit your wick from even staying lit.

How do I remove the excess wax to reuse the vessel?  If you are wanting to reuse your vessel, a good way of removing the excess wax in the bottom is to place the vessel in the freezer for 1/2 hour. This will shrink the wax and it can then be easily removed. Otherwise, run some hot water from the tap, adding a little liquid dish detergent into the tumbler and leave to soak overnight. The tumbler can then be emptied, and you can dispose of the wax. Gently pick off the wick sticker but be careful to not use sharp objects to remove, as this may scratch the paintwork of the vessel. Wash your vessel with warm soapy water and a sponge. Leave to dry as normal and your vessel is ready to use again.

We ship via USPS and UPS

How long will it take to get my order via mail? 
We are generally very quick to pack and ship, especially for small business. Typically, orders will ship the next day (M-F) however, in more rare cases please allow up to 3 business days for your order to ship - especially during busy launches, restocks etc. Once shipped, packages will arrive within 3-5 business days. There is always a "current lead time" listed in the banner/top of the website.

How does local pickup work?
Local pickup is free. At checkout, select the local pickup option. Once your order is prepped and ready for pickup (typically within 1-3 business days), you will get an email telling you exactly how to schedule your pickup. Please do not DM us on Instagram to schedule. Pickup is in Columbus, OH and I aim to make it as simple and as flexible possible.

All local orders must be picked up within 7 days of ordering. If you cannot be pickup within 7 days, please choose the $8.95 shipping option.

 Can I send a gift to a friend, family or loved one?
Absolutely. Our invoices never include cost, it is simply an itemized receipt, which essentially serves as a gift receipt. Be sure to use their shipping address if you want it sent directly to them!

Stolen packages, packages delivered to the wrong address, or entering your address incorrectly:
If UPS/USPS fails to deliver your package correctly or if your package is stolen, this is not the responsibility of Tildy Candle Co. You will be prompted to file a claim through the carrier for a full refund — a mishap such as this is completely out of our hands and is solely to responsibility of the carrier. Please be sure to ship your candles to a reliable address that doesn't have frequent delivery issues. 

Please always be sure to double check your ship to address at check out. If you input the wrong ship to address, the package will be returned to Tildy Candle Co. and there will be a $8.95 re-ship fee since we don't get a refund on shipping when it's returned to sender, and we have to pay for shipping twice.

What if my order arrives broken or damaged?
If this happens, we've got you covered. Please email us at info@tildycandleco.com a photo of the following ASAP:

  1. a photo of the damaged item up close
  2. a photo of the box, showing all packaging used to protect the item
  3. a photo of the shipping label on the box
